One of the major programs of ASKS is micro credit which is launched in the year 1993, main aim is to involve the disadvantage poor people in the society those who have no entrance in any formal financial institute; into main-steam micro-credit program by mobilizing them within a strong group formation for their Self-development as well as the uplift their livelihood through Micro-credit, Agro-based Income Generating Activities (IGA) and Social entrepreneur Program.
To operate this program ASKS forms one or two groups in a same village; each group consists of minimum 20 to 30 members, those who are disadvantage poor people in the society. They don’t have excess to the formal financial institute. There are minimum 100 to 150 groups in a Branch office. Each group has its own Management Committee elected by within the group members. This committee has to be changed by election every after two year. Each management committee has one president, one secretary, one treasurer and two executive members. This committee manages all relevant activities within the group. Every week there is a meeting called weekly meeting, organized by group members at president’s house. In a meeting a ASKS credit officer collected installment amount, members savings. A branch channels all services to its members. All records and accounts maintained in a branch office. There are 22 branch offices of ASKS; each branch office has a Branch Manager. He/She manages all activities of branch level such as communication with senior official & Head Quarter of ASKS, government officials, local government representatives, media people and other stakeholders, oversee the staff attendance, field movement, leave record keeping, maintenance assets list and monitoring day to day activities in his/her branch.
